Permissions in Gjensidige’s apps

For different purposes, Gjensidige’s apps ask for your permissions, needed to deliver the services and experiences the apps mean to give you. The permissions will not be used for other purposes. Beneath you will find the different permissions the apps ask for, with their purposes explained.

Permissions in the Gjensidige app

  • "Exact position (GPS)": This is used to find your position when you ask for roadside assistance. In the Android version, GPS is also used for the "Find nearest office" function, to show your account balance in local currency, and to suggest local currency in the currency calculator.
  • "Full internet access": The app needs to access internet for many functions, like updating exchange rate, retrieve insurance details, push messaging, consent for Norwegian pension and showing your online bank services.
  • "Camera" and "Photo Library": The app needs access to your camera and photo library as we encourage you to take pictures at several points in the “Hjelp ved skade” function.
  • "Read your contacts" and "Make changes in your contacts": If you use the function “Find position and call me”, the app creates a new contact where the registered name is your position coordinates and the phone number is Gjensidige’s. Then the app calls to Gjensidige, and the new contact shows up on your phone, so that you can read the coordinates while speaking with Gjensidige. Next time you start the app, the contact is deleted.
  • "Read recent phone calls" and "Change recent phone calls": No function in the app reads or changes your recent phone calls, but it asks for the permission anyway. This is because of the setup in the app store.

Permissions in the Gouda app

  • "See network connections" is used to check whether the device is connected to internet, so that you can access all the functions in the app.
  • "Full internet access": The app needs access to internet, so that you can use all of its functions.

E-mail, newsletters and online surveys

E-mail addresses are considered confidential information, and will not be sold or distributed to others outside of Gjensidige, except third party actors and partners. We have a data processing agreement with these companies.

Be cautious around e-mails that concern your customer relationship with us and come from unknown senders. Of security reasons, we will never ask you to provide personal data (like personal ID number, bank account number, username, PIN code or information about your health) through e-mail. If you receive an e-mail, seemingly from Gjensidige, that asks you to provide such information, you should be careful.

Now and then we will send our customers e-mails. They may contain active links that for instance lead to surveys, product information or electronic claim forms. To prevent attempts at phishing or scam, these links will only lead to pages with information, never a login page or your online bank.

You may need to provide personal ID number or zip/postal code as a part of the information needed to give you offers, calculations or the like.

Netlife Dialog

We use Netlife Dialog to send newsletters and marketing content to your e-mail address. The sender of these e-mails is gjensidige@nettsvar.no or gjensidige.privat@gjensidige.no. If you open the web version of the e-mail, it will show on the domains goto.nettsvar.no or g.nettsvar.no. If you hover your marker over an article on these websites, you will also see the domains gjensidige.epostklikk.no or respons.gjensidige.no.

Netlife Dialog also distributes the notices you receive when documents are delivered to your inbox at gjensidige.no. The sender will then be listed as receiver.bringcrm.no.

Ipsos, Opinion, Kantar and Questback

We collaborate with the analysis agencies Ipsos, Opinion and Kantar when carrying out customer surveys. The sender is then respectively noreply@ipsos.no, survey@opinion.no, survey@norskgallup.no or survey@norsk-gallup.no. In addition, we use Questback as a tool for carrying out surveys, sending out invitations, etc. These are then answered on the domain https://web.questback.com..
